Alpha Boiler Plate Heat Exchanger 3.022783 (J44248)

Product Overview

The Alpha Boiler DHW 14 Plate Heat Exchanger (Part Number: 3.022783) is a replacement domestic hot water heat exchanger designed for use within selected Alpha heating systems.

The plate heat exchanger transfers heat from the boiler's primary heating circuit to the domestic hot water circuit, allowing the boiler to provide hot water efficiently without the two water circuits mixing.

Part number 3.022783 is confirmed by Alpha parts documentation as a DHW 14-plate heat exchanger with seal kit.

Technical Insight & Common Failure Symptoms

The domestic hot water plate heat exchanger transfers heat between the primary heating water and incoming mains water. Over time, scale, debris, or corrosion can restrict the internal passages and reduce heat transfer.

Typical symptoms associated with a restricted or faulty plate heat exchanger include:

• Poor domestic hot water performance
• Hot water taking longer to reach the required temperature
• Fluctuating hot water temperature
• Reduced hot water flow
• Boiler cycling during hot water demand
• Restricted water flow through the heat exchanger

Replacing a restricted or faulty heat exchanger may help restore efficient domestic hot water production.
